Keeping your spending accurate and up to date is easier with Review Transactions. This feature gives you a simple way to review your transactions and confirm that details like the amount, merchant, and category look correct.
What does it mean to review a transaction?
New eligible transactions that come into Origin are marked as unreviewed.
Reviewing a transaction simply means you’ve looked it over and confirmed that its details are correct. Once you’ve reviewed it, Origin marks it accordingly so you can easily keep track of what’s been checked.
Income transactions are not currently included in the transaction review flow.
How to Review Transactions
From your Transactions page, you can open Review Transactions and quickly work through transactions that need your attention.
Review each transaction to confirm that details such as the merchant, amount, and category are correct, then mark it as reviewed and move on to the next one.
Reviewing Automatically Matched Transfers
Origin can automatically identify when money is being moved between two of your connected accounts.
When Origin confidently matches the incoming and outgoing sides of the same transfer, both transactions are categorized as Transfer so the movement of money isn’t incorrectly counted as income or spending.
Automatically matched transfers will appear in Review Transactions so you can confirm that the match is correct.
You can also:
- See which transaction Origin matched it with
- Navigate to the other side of the transfer
- Revert the match if it isn’t correct
If you revert an automatically matched transfer, both transactions will return to their previous categories.
Customize Your Transaction Review Settings
From your Spending Settings, you can customize parts of your transaction review experience, including alerts for large transactions.
You can set a custom dollar threshold and receive a notification when a transaction exceeds that amount.
Review Reminders
If you haven’t logged in for 7 days and still have unreviewed transactions, Origin may send you a reminder.
The notification will take you directly to the review experience so you can quickly catch up.
Why Review Your Transactions?
Regularly reviewing your transactions can help you catch incorrect categories, unusual transactions, or other issues that could affect your spending and budget.
Head to your Transactions page to see which transactions are ready for review.
