ID Protection is an optional add-on to your Origin membership that helps you monitor your personal information for potential exposure and take action if something goes wrong.
What’s included with ID Protection?
ID Protection includes:
- Dark web monitoring
- Get alerts if your email, passwords, or other personal information appears in a known data breach.
- Social Security number monitoring
- If you choose to add your Social Security number, ID Protection monitors for signs that it may be misused.
- Data broker removal
- ID Protection finds data broker and people-search sites that list your personal information and submits removal requests on your behalf. We’ll continue monitoring these sites and request removal again if your information reappears.
- Identity theft insurance
- Get up to $3 million in identity theft insurance for eligible expenses while your ID Protection coverage is active.
- Identity restoration support
- If you believe your identity has been stolen, you can connect with an identity restoration specialist who can guide you through the recovery process and help you file an insurance claim if needed.
Who is eligible for ID Protection?
To use ID Protection, you must:
- Be 18 or older
- Live in the United States
- Have an active, paid Origin membership purchased directly from Origin
Employer-sponsored, international, and free Origin memberships aren’t currently eligible.
How can I check whether my information has been exposed?
You can run a free, one-time exposure scan before subscribing to ID Protection.
During onboarding or from ID Protection in the app, select Check my exposure and confirm a few details, such as your email, city, and date of birth. We’ll run a scan and show you what we find.
Running the scan does not sign you up for ID Protection or charge you.
Why do my exposure results include information I don’t recognize?
The scan matches records using information like your name, email, and location. Your results may include old email addresses or previous addresses you’ve forgotten about.
Occasionally, a result may belong to someone with similar information. If something doesn’t look right, contact Origin Support.
Where can I find ID Protection?
If ID Protection is available to you, you can access it during onboarding or by selecting ID Protection in the navigation bar or from the ID Protection card on your home page.
On desktop, you’ll find it under Services.
If you skipped ID Protection during onboarding, you can still sign up later from these areas.
Is ID Protection included with my Origin membership?
No. ID Protection is an optional add-on with its own charge and renewal date.
You can cancel ID Protection without canceling your Origin membership. An active Origin membership is required to use ID Protection.
