While Origin does not currently have a native Windows app, you can install the Origin web app directly to your Windows computer using most modern browsers.
Once installed, Origin will open in its own window and behave similarly to a traditional desktop app, giving you quick access without needing to navigate to Origin in your browser each time.
Install Origin using Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome on your Windows computer.
- Navigate to Origin and log in to your account.
- Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of Chrome.
- Select Cast, save, and share.
- Select Install page as app.
- Follow the prompts to install Origin.
Once installed, you can launch Origin directly from your Windows Start menu or desktop like your other applications.
Other browsers
Many modern browsers also support installing websites as standalone apps. The exact steps may vary depending on the browser and version you’re using.
If you don’t see an option to install Origin as an app, make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.
Is this the same as a native Windows app?
Not quite. This installs Origin’s web experience as a standalone app on your computer rather than installing a separate native Windows application.
You’ll still get the same Origin experience available on the web, but it will launch in its own window and can be accessed alongside your other Windows apps.
