How to Update Who Owns an Account

Here's how to update the ownership of accounts added by either you or your partner:

From the Profile Section

1. Log in to your Origin account

2. Navigate to the Profile section in the main menu

3. Scroll down to view your connected accounts

4. Find the account you want to reassign

5. Look for the ownership dropdown menu next to the account (may show your partner’s name)

6. Click on the dropdown menu

7. Select your name to assign it to yourself, or Shared account to make it a joint account

8. A success notification will appear when the change is complete

From Forecast Onboarding

1. During the forecast onboarding process, go to the Review your accounts step

2. Find the account you want to reassign

3. Click the ownership dropdown menu next to the account

4. Select your name to assign it to yourself, or Shared account to make it a joint account

5. Continue with the forecast setup

From Manual Accounts

1. Go to the Accounts section

2. Find the manual account you want to reassign

3. Click on the account to view details

4. Look for the ownership dropdown menu

5. Select your name to assign it to yourself, or Shared account to make it a joint account

6. The change will be applied immediately

Once an account’s ownership is updated, the change will reflect instantly across the app. This means either partner can take ownership of accounts added by the other, or designate them as joint, making it easier to manage shared finances.
