No — downgrading from Expert Assistance is not supported once it has been selected.
If you choose Expert Assistance at the start of your return, or add it later as a buy-up during the filing flow, that selection is locked in for the remainder of the tax year and cannot be removed or downgraded.
You can also reach the April Tax support team anytime by tapping the “?” icon at the top of the tax portal to help decide before proceeding.
