Your Net Worth graph is built using daily account balance snapshots, not individual transactions. This helps show how your total net worth changes over time.
What the Net Worth Graph Shows
Origin records your account balances once per day and uses those snapshots to build the graph going forward.
That means:
If you connect an account today, you’ll see a balance point starting today
Tomorrow, you’ll have two data points
Over time, the graph becomes more detailed and accurate
Why New Accounts Don’t Show Past History
When you connect a new account, Origin does not pull in historical balance data from before the connection date.
This is because most financial data providers typically only supply the current balance at the time of connection, not a full history of daily balances.
What You Might See Right After Connecting Accounts
If you’ve recently connected accounts, you may see a message like:
“Building wealth takes time. Your net worth graph takes a week to populate.”
This just means Origin is still collecting enough daily balance snapshots to display a meaningful trend. Hang tight!
What This Means for You
New accounts start from the day you connect them
If you connect an account today, your graph will not include that account’s balance history from earlier months or years.
Longer date ranges may look incomplete at first
If you select a 1 Year view but connected an account 1 month ago, only that 1 month of balance history will show for that account.
Your graph may include a mix of old and new accounts
If some accounts were connected earlier and others were added recently, the graph will reflect that:
Older accounts contribute more historical data
New accounts only contribute from their connection date forward
