You can connect your Venmo account to Origin to view your balance and track transactions just like any other account — giving you a more complete picture of your finances.
To connect Venmo:

On desktop - Click the "+" button from the top right of your dashboard
- On mobile - Click the gear icon in upper right, then head to the Account Management page, then click "+"

Search for “Venmo” or select the Venmo icon under New Connections

Follow the prompts to log in and complete the connection
💡 Having trouble connecting through Plaid? Search for Venmo in the account connection modal and click the three-dot menu next to Venmo and try a different provider (MX or Finicity).
How Venmo transactions work in Origin:
Once connected, Origin will treat your Venmo transactions like any other linked account.

Automatic categorization: Transactions are categorized based on merchant names (e.g., grocery store payments go to “Groceries”).

Customize categories by:

Finding the transaction in your Transactions tab

Clicking the dropdown arrow next to it

Selecting a new category

Clicking “Apply”

You can also create a transaction rule during this process to automatically categorize similar future transactions from that merchant.

Mark as Transfer: If a Venmo transaction should be treated as a transfer (not spending), simply change the category to “Transfer” using the dropdown and apply the change.
