You can create or update a budget for a future month at any time in Origin.
This is helpful if you’re planning ahead for:
- Travel
- Holidays
- Moving expenses
- Seasonal spending
- Upcoming lifestyle changes
Create a one-time budget change
If you only want changes to apply to a specific future month:
- Go to the Budget tab
- Navigate to the future month you want to edit
- Select Edit Budget (or edit category's budget)
- Update your category amounts
Your changes will apply only to that selected month.
Create recurring monthly changes
If you want your updates to continue into future months:
- Go to the Budget tab
- Select Edit Budget
- Leave Apply to all future months turned on
- Update your category amounts
This is useful for ongoing changes like:
- Rent increases
- New subscriptions
- Childcare expenses
- Updated savings goals
Plan ahead with rollover budgeting
You can also enable rollover for eligible categories so unused funds carry forward into future months.
